Prints and animations
The “Dynamical Designs” in the gallery are tiny, very compressed, resized thumbnails of the original digital files. Clicking on a thumbnail reveals a detail of the image in the form of an ellipse. These ellipses show the sort of fine detail that all the pictures have at the pixel level and this should give some idea of the excellent print quality attainable. In general the larger the print size the more the fine detail at pixel level is revealed and this then has to be balanced with quality, cost and aesthetic considerations. In fact these digital image files can be created at any size in theory (the mathematics used in their creation is resolution independent) with the size being limited only by the physical constraints imposed by the amount of computer memory available and the printer specifications. This means high quality prints can be made to measure for specific purposes using the latest fine art printing technology. Here are some examples of prints made with these pictures.
Two high resolution animations of fractals are on YouTube. One is an animation (4m 08s) of the picture Light on a Lake, in both a 1080p version and a 4K version. The other is an animation (5m) of the picture Red City, also in both a 1080p version and a 4K version.
